Monthly earnings or remuneration may not exceed half of the minimum wage, i.e. 9 450 CZK (gross). The job seeker must report the performance of this activity, regardless of the amount of earnings or remuneration when applying for employment mediation (register of job applicants) or at the latest on the day of starting to perform this activity. Within the period determined by the Labor office, the job applicant must provide proof of monthly earnings (remuneration). Monthly earnings, remuneration is confirmed to job applicants by the employer at form Confirmation of performance of activity (non-conflicting employment)external-link.

This additional income must not prevent the applicant from fulfilling the obligations arising from his management in the register of job applicants (providing cooperation to the employment office, accepting job offers, participating in activities and programs.

You can't earn extra money on an agreement to carry out work! Closing the DPP is the reason for the termination of management in the register of job applicants.

Yes, to report the category of payer, the insured may be represented by another person who proves to be a power of attorney for the given act. The power of attorney does not need to be officially verified.

You don't have to. The insurance premium is paid by the state for entire calendar months, and in case of registration at the Labor office during the month, the insured does not have to pay a proportional part of the insurance premium.

The employer pays the insurance premium for his employees, while ⅓ is deducted from the employee's salary and ⅔ of the insurance premium is paid by the employer.

If the income does not reach the minimum wage (CZK 18,900), the employee must pay the insurance premium up to the amount corresponding to the minimum wage.

The employer does not pay insurance premiums for persons who work for him on the basis of an agreement on the performance of work with an income of up to CZK 10,000 or on the basis of an agreement on work activities with an income of up to CZK 3,500.

If neither the state nor the employer pays the insurance premium for the insured person, he must pay the insurance premium himself at the health insurance company:

a) either as a self-employed person - the minimum deposit is CZK 2,968

b) or as a person without taxable income - the minimum premium is CZK 2,552.

A natural person with a permanent contract may become a jobseeker only if his or her gross monthly remuneration from this activity does not exceed half of the minimum wage (CZK 9 450 gross for 2024). This activity (so-called non-colluding employment) must be notified to the Labour Office immediately upon submission of the applications for employment mediationexternal-link – is filled in in part I. letter J, point 1. of this request.

It is necessary to document the employment agreement to the Labor office (the Labor office will make a copy of this DPČ). Each month, it is the duty of the job seeker to document the amount of the monthly remuneration by a set date determined by the employment office. The job seeker must monitor the amount of the monthly remuneration, which must not exceed the stated amount.

The validity of the public health insurance card received on the basis of a temporary protection visa is the same as the period for which you were granted a temporary protection visa. Therefore, it is not necessary to apply for a replacement card, and health care providers will treat you based on its presentation.

However after 150 days from the granting of a temporary protection visa to you the state stops automatically paying health insurance. You have an obligation contact your health insurance company and document how the health insurance will be paid for you, whether you still fall into the category of the so-called state insured. Health insurance is paid by the state, for example, for people who are registered with the Labor Office of the Czech Republic, take care of a dependent child under the age of 7 all day, or by two or more children under the age of 15, studying at a secondary/university school, etc. However, the employer can also pay for the health insurance on behalf of the insured, on the basis of an employment contract, an agreement to perform work with an income of more than CZK 10,000, or on the basis of an agreement about employment with income from CZK 3,500.

If the insurance is not paid for by the employer and you do not provide the health insurance company with a confirmation that you are a state insured person, you must pay for the health insurance yourself.

If you started your own business after coming from Ukraine to the Czech Republic, you need to provide the health insurance company with a trade license and proof of registration with the tax office and start paying monthly health insurance premiums of CZK 2,968 yourself.

In case you do not fall into any of the above categories (state insured, employee, self-employed), after 150 days have passed since the temporary protection visa was granted, you will be reassigned to a category OBZPexternal-link (Person without taxable income) when you have the obligation to pay the minimum advance payment for health insurance, which for 2024 is CZK 2,552 per month. Failure to fulfill this obligation and subsequent non-payment of health insurance results in a debt to the health insurance company, which can end in execution in extreme cases.
